Before you buy

Early-bird ticket tips

These tips reflect the conditions stated by the resorts or on their ticket pages. Details vary by resort, so read the product page again before buying.

  1. 01

Confirm your lesson resort and date first

Early-bird tickets are valid only at the designated resort (the Joetsu Kokusai & Iwappara ticket can be used at either resort). Confirm your lesson resort and date with us before buying the relevant lift ticket.

  2. 02

    No refunds after purchase

Early-bird tickets are sold at a discount. Every ticket page we checked (Asoview, Smile Ticket, Webket, Snownavi and others) states that purchases cannot be cancelled or refunded. NASPA also specifies that no refunds are given even if the resort closes because of insufficient snow.

  3. 03

Use the QR code on your phone to collect your ticket

Most early-bird tickets are e-tickets. Use your QR code at a ticket machine or ticket office to collect a physical lift ticket (Kandatsu: level 2 of GROUNDBASE; NASPA: the Information counter in the ski centre). Screenshots are not accepted for some tickets, such as WAmazing’s Maiko ticket, so make sure your phone has internet access and enough battery when collecting your ticket.

  4. 04

Physical tickets are shipped within Japan only

SURF&SNOW and Snownavi state that they do not ship overseas, and WINTER PLUS uses Japan Post. If you are buying in advance from Taiwan, choose an e-ticket (such as SURF&SNOW’s “スマリフ” or a WINTER PLUS e-voucher) or an e-ticket from the official site.

  5. 05

    Check the ticket’s validity period

Early-bird tickets are not always valid for the whole season: GALA’s is valid until Mar 31 (the resort is open until May 5), Kandatsu’s until Mar 28 and Joetsu Kokusai’s until Mar 22. At Joetsu Kokusai, a 1-day ticket bought on the day costs only ¥2,000 for Dec 12–18 and Mar 23 – Apr 4, so you do not need an early-bird ticket for those dates.

  6. 06

Check age restrictions and whether snowboarding is allowed

Yuzawa Park’s early-bird ticket is restricted to ages 19–54, the Naeba/Kagura early-bird ticket sold through ticketing platforms is for ages 18+, and Kandatsu’s early-bird tickets are available for adults only. NASPA allows skiing only. Children of elementary school age and under can use the lifts free at Naeba and Kagura; collect the required free lift ticket at the ticket office.

  7. 07

    Register an account before buying

Asoview, Webket and SURF&SNOW require you to register an account before buying (Asoview states that registration is free). Yuzawa Nakazato and Maiko offer a Chinese booking option through WAmazing on their official ticket pages, and Kandatsu has a ticket page in English.
