Narita Airport to Tokyo / Ueno Station
From Narita, travel into Tokyo first, then transfer to the Shinkansen or highway bus for Echigo-Yuzawa.
SKYLINER-Approx. 40 minutes, one-way JPY 2,470
Skyliner is the fastest train from Narita Airport to Tokyo. Ride to Keisei Ueno, walk about 3 minutes to JR Ueno, then transfer to the Joetsu Shinkansen.
Skyliner is not covered by the JR Pass.
NEX Narita Express-Approx. 60 minutes, one-way JPY 3,070
NEX takes longer than Skyliner, but it is convenient if you stay near Tokyo, Ginza, Shibuya, or Shinjuku before going to Echigo-Yuzawa.
With a JR Pass, you can take NEX to Tokyo Station and transfer to the Joetsu Shinkansen.

The airport bus is a budget-friendly way into Tokyo. Seats are unreserved and tickets are purchased on site. Each passenger may bring one checked item within the stated size limit.
Bicycles, ski or snowboard bags, cardboard boxes, and extra luggage may not be accepted.
Haneda Airport to Central Tokyo
From Haneda, travel into Tokyo first, then transfer to the Shinkansen or highway bus for Echigo-Yuzawa.
Tokyo Monorail + JR-Approx. 30 minutes, one-way JPY 689

Take the Tokyo Monorail to Hamamatsucho, then transfer to the JR Yamanote or Keihin-Tohoku Line. A Suica card makes transfers easier.
The Tokyo Monorail is covered by JR Pass, but Tokyo subway passes do not cover this route.
Keikyu Airport Line + JR-Approx. 40 minutes, one-way JPY 505

Take the Keikyu Airport Line to Shinagawa, then transfer to JR lines for central Tokyo. A Suica card makes entry and transfers easier.
JR Pass and Tokyo subway passes do not cover the Keikyu Airport Line.
Haneda Limousine Bus-Approx. 45 minutes, one-way JPY 1,000
The limousine bus is not always the cheapest choice, but hotel routes are convenient if you have luggage or prefer fewer transfers.
Each passenger can usually bring two checked bags plus small carry-on items.
Tokyo to Echigo-Yuzawa Station / Naeba Ski Resort
From Tokyo, transfer to the Joetsu Shinkansen or highway bus to reach Echigo-Yuzawa.
For GALA Yuzawa, either get off at Echigo-Yuzawa and take the shuttle, or continue to GALA Yuzawa Station.
Joetsu Shinkansen-Fastest from Tokyo: 67 minutes, reserved seat JPY 6,590
At Tokyo or Ueno Station, follow signs for the Shinkansen and board the Joetsu Shinkansen toward Niigata. It goes directly to Echigo-Yuzawa.
Naeba Direct Bus-Approx. 3.5 hours, one-way JPY 4,000

Direct buses run from Sunshine City Prince Hotel or Ikebukuro East Exit to Naeba Prince Hotel. Prices vary by date and demand.
Tokyo to Echigo-Yuzawa
Driving gives you flexible timing and less luggage transfer. From Narita to Yuzawa takes about 3-4 hours; exit at Yuzawa I.C. Rent an ETC card for expressway toll gates.
In winter, confirm that your rental car has snow tires. Four-wheel drive is recommended.
